Tow/Haul Mode

I like the shifting of the Tow/Haul mode in my 4800 4x4 with 3.42 gearing and an auto. Does anyone know if you can computer adjust the shifting RPM and still retain the lockup? Book says not to run in Tow/Haul Mode unless towing.

Drop a line to Jesse Bubb at wait4meperformance.com. He does reprogramming for trucks and could tell you what you can or can't do. I just got an ecm from him and like it so far. He only charges $158.00 and you keep your old computer.

The one thing you can depend on is for the little wire that runs from the transmission selector stauk switch to break and the "tow haul" stops working. You can take the steering column cover off and re-splice the wires but they are fine with a heavy plastic cover that just breaks them over time. My 2000 Z71 with 150,000 miles runs super with the exception of the transmission which needed the throttle body reworked. I upgraded to Mobil 1 DEXTRON trans fluid at the recommendation of the trans shop and also installed a trans coolent temp gauge which is a big help in telling what is happening.
