Re: 93 Pace Trucks
The fact that ya love them is enough! It's just nice to know you like them. I told ya you would be surprised....... p.s. when you install the Chevrolet on the windshield, remove the trademark circled r to be correct. My guy has to add that due to trademark laws.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
You're welcome, let me know if you need some installation hints. We're hoping to have the side and hood stripes on next week.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Aren't there any Copy-write laws on doing this?
I have an older Hydrodyne boat and someone wanted to reproduce the image and since the Co is out of business, had a struggle getting permission.. I will be needing re-pops also. Just sayin.. E |

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
The only thing that's still copyrighted is the Chevrolet for the windshield. Thus my guy has to put the circled R on it. I just remove it because it wasn't on there originally. Copyrights have expired on the rest of them. We couldn't duplicate the ink for the side and hood stripes. So we got as close as possible on the colors. It should come out awesome looking though.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hey
Just bought a '93 Pace Truck September 2. I know I probably overpaid for it, but I've been looking for a good one since 2000. Been chasing this one since 2013. It is a perfect example of a Pace Truck and still has the new car/truck smell inside,....NO KIDDING. It has, as of yesterday, 702 original miles. I bought it with 692 miles on the clock. I rationalize that a new truck 1/2 ton Chevy Silverado would cost probably north of 25 K and it would not be exactly what I want. ThiePace Truck fits the bill for me. The original Tiger Paw Uniroyals look to be in great condition, but I'm thinking that they will need to be swapped out, as I believe 23+ year old tires are not safe. It is really unbelievable. The paint on the inside of the bed is as pristine as the rest of the exterior paint ! Here is the actual auction site http://www.auctionsamerica.com/event...=AF16&ID=r0090 Here it is being auctioned off. It made You Tube....fast forward to 4 minutes, 14 seconds....it comes right after the red mustang........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIEKoEnYMKo Bill Last edited by FLBill; 09-23-2016 at 08:58 PM. |

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Oops, I just posted a blank post. Awesome looking truck. Can you post some nice pics of the door and fender decals please. I want to duplicate them for my girlfriends truck. Thanks in advance.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hey
Thanks Flashed. I thought the price went high and might have paid too much. Truck actually went for 20 and there was the 2 K premium at AA. Ifyou Google auctions America, a Pace Truck back in 2015 with like 235 miles on it went for 30 K (which means it sold for around 27500. Over the years, I have chased and gone to see a LOT of what turned out to be poor condition or problematic Pace trucks, and this is even after verifying over the phone and with pics before hand. Have gone to Tampa, Miami, South Carolina, Georgia and even Pennsylvania. Pictures can be deceiving Have come to totally believe too that my opinion on what "excellent is, is not always the same as others'. I figured with this Pace Truck, since it was low mileage, the chances were good it would be as described. OK I will take a close up of the decals and will post them, as soon as I get it to my place. It is currently at my brother's shop. Bill |

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Thanks, those pics will help a lot. Your truck was probably stored nicely. Most of these people used as pick ups. The paint quality wasn't that good and it peeled off. I'm trying to get hers looking good. The interior is awesome but the paint was dead.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hey
It was kept in a climate controlled building. I'm hoping the paint holds up. I know what you mean. The black can have the clear coat flake off. I've seen it occur more on the white trucks and I have first hand experience there. I have a white, '92 454 SS which is my daily driver. two years ago the white paint came off in sheets on the roof and the bed rails. I had it painted and all is good.. I'm really hoping that the '93 Pace truck paint holds up. Having issues would be a drag. Don't know if there is any protective polish or whatever that would help prevent the paint degradation. I do believe it is sun related... The paints (primers) that GM used then were water based (huge mistake) and I've been told they did not give it a chance to completely dry, so over time it affected the paint and then clear coat. Like I said in an earlier post I have seen and inspected many '93 Pace Trucks,.... probably 40 + , and only recall I think two having paint issues and then it was hood and roof. Bill |

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hood and roof were the major probem on hers too. But the clear was losing it clarity all over. It's gorgeous now. We'll see how the stripes come out. My vinyl guy is pretty darn good.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
After a little over a year of work and sweat. The paint and stripes are almost complete. Special thanks to Bill for his pics of his extremely low milage truck for the graphics guy. They were a big help. Stripes aren't exactly correct but really close and look great. Maybe some pics for you guys. Hopefully these might be a momentary pick me up for one of the subscribers/friend during a very rough time in his life.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
They go on the outside. Either you call me or I'll call you and give you some instructions. They look hard but they're not with a little tutorial. The decals you have are 3M vinyl and awesome quality. Let me know when you're ready John.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
My girlfriend found the correct indy wing decals NOS. I was surprised that for their age they installed easily. Please no comments about my ugly @$$ reflecting in the pics.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hey
Looks great !! Mine does not have the decal in the back window. Just about to get my '93 Pace on the road. It's been sitting in my garage since September. I has 716 original miles on it. Got to get new tires for it first. Is there any call for the original tires by anyone? It is a shame. They are like perfect condition but have very tiny hairline dry cracking along the tread edges. I don't think they are safe for driving , but was wondering if anybody had need for such NOS stuff. They are Uniroyal Tiger Paw. Or just to toss? Bill |

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Itxsucks but the tire are a conversation pieces now. At their age I would be afraid to mount them and air them up. I can get the decal made if you want.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Quote:
The peeling/flaking is absolutely sun related. The UV light penetrates the paint and causes delamination, with lighter colors being most problematic. That's why you usually see the peeling occurring on white trucks. Having said that - a black truck that has been kept inside should be fine. K
