anyone ever?

Anyone ever put a 5.3 or 6.0 liter out of 99 newer trucks in a vortec based truck such as a 97 silverado? How hard what's needed? Will the 4l60 trans in the 97 still work? Looking for advice maybe pics of installed. I have seen the 5.3s in 67 thru 72 but never 88 thru 98

Re: anyone ever?

Its been done many times. The 4L60E will work but I think there is an adapter or spacer of some sort that is required for the LS engine. Motor mounts, wiring and ECM will obviously need to be changed. Also getting a setup from 99-03 will have the regular throttle cable throttle body. The 04 up have throttle by wire and will require the use of the 04 up throttle pedal assy. Do some searching and you will find it has been done many times.
