Bigger wheels for 56 3100?

Hi guys

I'm wanting to put a set of American racing torque thrust 2s on my 56 3100. I'm running a 79 Camaro front end and rear axle (I think, see numbers below). What sizes can I get away with without tubbing and cutting? I was thinking 16x7 and 17x8.5 rear. Keen to hear thoughts and see examples. Are 18s too big??

Numbers on axle... G81561

Cheers
Mike

I have the same truck. Camaro front clip and S10 rear end. I think mine are 20x8.5 with 1" spacers. I don't remember what the offset is though. I think it was either zero or a little +. Still need to lower the front to match the rear!
