Need help to figure out how much the truck has been lowered

Hi: I'm trying to figure out how much this truck has been lowered, the PO said he believe it's lowered 7" with WESTERN CHASSIS rear axle flip kit, shackles, hangers. It's been C-notched. I don't see it's been flipped.

When I asked the tech guy form WC and send him this picture, he said it does not appear to have been lowered that much, maybe only 4" max.

Maybe you guys can take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Re: Need help to figure out how much the truck has been lowered

shackles and hangers tend to average of 2" per setup . so your guess of 4" seems in the ball park .

and yes i also see no flip kit installed .

the rear springs look a little flat tho . possible drop leafs to get it lower ? i dont play with them so i have no prof of that just a idea . could just bee the angle of the pic .

that rear c-notch kit will interfere with the bed crossmembers if i am not mistaken . be prepared to notch them for the top flange over the frame rail . stock trucks the crossmembers sit on the frame . that flip will lift the bed up a hair and cause you problems if you didnt know this .

Thanks SweetK30. When you say "that rear c-notch kit will interfere with the bed cross members if i am not mistaken . be prepared to notch them for the top flange over the frame rail "

Do you mean to notch the cross member, right? that's not big deal. I had to notch 1 of the crossmembers on the 65 when I installed the tank in the rear.

I didn't need to modify the bed for the over-the-rail frame notch on my 73, it cleared fine. As stated above though, you will more than likely need to notch the cross member to clear the drop shackles. If you had the HD 56" springs, the rear hanger sits back further on the frame, and no notch would be required.

I have the 8 leaf pack in my 78 c10 with belltech shackles and hangers and it required trimming to clear in the rear.

I see shackles, hangers, and c-notch. If the axle actually uses any of that c-notches extra travel, then those springs are either modified or aftermarket because just 4" of drop doesn't need a c notch [going on almost 20yrs with mine like this]
