Question about position of shift lever shaft on TH400 transmission
I'm trying to install a B&M shifter on my TH400 transmission and, need to know what position the shifter shaft needs to be in for park. Looking at the shaft straight on from the end, does it need to be rotated all the way clockwise or, all the way counter clockwise to be in park? Thanks!

Re: Question about position of shift lever shaft on TH400 transmission
I am assuming you have the transmission in the car....with the shifter linkage disconnected, rotate the trans linkage clockwise as far as you can....can you turn the output shaft ? If you can not turn the output shaft I am assuming the trans is in park....if not try to rotate the trans linkage counterclock wise and see what you get....you have a 50/50 chance of getting it into park....I do like those odds, lets go to vegas and call it good....

Re: Question about position of shift lever shaft on TH400 transmission
Well, guess I asked a stupid question. Obviously, the output shaft wouldn't turn if the trans was in park. Don't know where my head was at....wait a minute,.......yes I do know where my head was at. Thanks for the help...lol
