Thank you Josh, Thats the kind of stuff I need to hear. Sometimes I am stubborn about sticking to something I think may look good and won't try another look, but most times I am open to other ideas and opinions, I always like to hear what anybody says because a lot of times its better then my idea.

I was out there 2 years ago, and these are the only couple of pics I still have up on my Flickr pages, but I hope to get plenty more.

The truck was just a little different looking then. The cab lights were to big and the center 3 were spaced wrong, but only a couple people called me out on it. The body got busted in a few places and it just needed a rebuild at the time.

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

Thank you everyone, for all the kind words and thoughts. I (we) made it back from Arizona in one piece mostly. As with most long road trips, you see many different things, some really cool and some not so cool, but that's life, and another story to tell.

I will eventually start a thread in "General Discussion" with pictures of my trip to the Canyon and Phoenix, and back to Mason City. I'll give you guys a heads up when I do.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The truck is basically finished, it has a few spots I would like to fix sometime, but its not bad. It will work for now. I had plans for other rims, but my family and friends convinced me to stay with the white steelies.

A couple pics from the Grand Canyon, and it made the trip for me. The Canyon was hazy that morning, so the other pics are subdued a little, but these made my day.

These birds were down to only 22, but they have rebounded to up to maybe 100 or more, and I'm not sure about that either.

They are California Condors, they stand 48 inches tall with a 9 to 10 ft wingspan.

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

Thank you TexasJeff and Kurt L. Its turned into my favorite truck.

I had a few problems with the truck, I had to drop the gear ratio from the electric motor to the transmission.

The Electronic speed control was overheating, so it would stall out till it cooled off. So hopefully I have the bugs worked out and I will make a new video of it climbing back up and out of the creek bottoms.

Anyway, Josh (RatRod68) and Kurt, if your out there lurking, I started a thread under General Discussion about my trip to Arizonia. I will get the Canyon pics up there sometime, The ones now are from the roadtrip itself.

Hope you enjoy them.

Thank you very much !! I was just headed in for the night, and thought I would check my threads on my 2 forums, and found this very nice compliment. Thank you again. (sorry, tired and I'm heading to bed after this)

And to answer your question about a 60 to 66 RC, yes, I did a 64 Crew Cab.

Here is a link to it on here, if you have a little time to kill.

I took the truck back to the creek now that the water has receded and left me some places to run it, other then the boring backyard.

I hope you all like them.

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

It's been a few years since I have been on this site and I ran across this build. I just want to say that you have some serious mad skills, and some serious patience for doing what you do. The truck absolutely looks realistic. Other than totally AWESOME, I can't think of any other words to describe what you do. The only thing that would make the truck look better is if the lights would light up. Fantastic work, just fantastic!!!!!!!

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

Thank you Josh, and Kevin45 !

I'm just a little behind on my reply, but better late then never, I guess,

Kevin45, I'm glad you stopped by for a visit. Building these little vehicles keep me out of trouble, mostly, except I'm running out of room. I could put lights on it, I just get sick of messing with wires when I change batteries.

I'm trying to figure out what I could build next that is Chevrolet related. I just finished a Jeep, so I would have one to keep up with my 2 grandsons and their jeeps.

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

I sent pics of this truck into a RC magazine a few months ago. It was the 1st time I ever tried it.

I believe its seen all over he world as is this and other websites, but "hey" I made it into a magazine with one of my favorite RC trucks.. Its called RCCA or Radio Control Car Action.

The proof, from my Iphone its the April issue, so its not out just yet

Hi c10-72, Thank you !! are you talking about the jeep bodies ? if so, those are New Bright RC's you will find at Walmart around Christmas or ebay anytime of the year usually.

Thank you Dale, you see how well I keep up with this. I'm just glad to hear from you or anybody that likes my little trucks.

I 've been trying to talk myself into another Chevy build, but I sort of got side tracked with building old Harley models from Revell.

I just read the complete thread.
You really do have some awesome skills.
I'm so impatient, I can't even put together a ready-made AMT 1:24 scale model; without rushing through.
I am so jealous of your skills.
