Boyd Tank

I have a Boyd tank that's 5 to 6 years old new. Can I retrofit a efi pump in the tank or should I use a external pump and corvette filter return? Which one is better live longer?

Re: Boyd Tank

you might send it back to boyd and let him weld in one of his intank pump mounts...but there are kits you can do yourself. ...nothing wrong with external pump either but the intanks are supposed to last longer...my external is going on 6 yrs now and still going strong...some people fuss about the noise of externals but once cranked you can't hear mine...

Re: Boyd Tank

If I use a external pump it will mounted up in the frame rail at the top of tank. I've been told that this pumps won't suck they have to have gravity feed and fuel will not run up hill and what happens when fuel level gets low ( 1/2 or 1/4 )
Like the idea of a external pump

Re: Boyd Tank

I have mine inside the frame rail just forward of the hump. I don’t have any issues with pulling fuel even when 1/4 tank.
