How to fix rusty rocker when there’s no repro panel available
So, alternate tinkering here. I have a 1974 econoline 4x4 van. The city now uses salt brine on our roads and I have a spot on my rocker that was dime sized and soft only that is now softball sized and through. Here’s my question: salt and sand has filled between the rocker and inner rocker? Not sure if that’s the right term. It’s multi layered. Outer gone. Inner not too good. Do I clean out the sand salt and cut back the rocker? Should I sandblast instead? This panel is not available anymore in repro

Re: How to fix rusty rocker when there’s no repro panel available
Do your very best to 'measure and sketch' it up...both a probable replacement panel or part...and the area that it will install in....maybe take a few additional pics.
Then take this sketch to a sheet metal shop and ask if they could cut and form this up for you in a light gauge (mild) steel (probably 22-26 gauge?....not sure but it can measured with calipers). If its not too difficult, you will be able to get a reasonable and close shape that you can work with...and probably patch in with reasonable effort and results.....for a pretty reasonable cost. my two bits Coley
