Smile Re: Most popular color? ...thoughtful opinions.

Some great responses so far...

It seems to be leaning towards red and blue as popular choices....with a lot of emphasis on some original two-tone color with white.
Mine is a blue/white truck, which of course I like....but I personally still really like the red or red/white combinations....which always stand out.
A few people mentioned the orange as well....which i think is a surprisingly popular color for these as well.

One of the things that I think has a bearing on the popularity of these choices....is how they contradict modern vehicle colors...and thus, stand out in traffic, etc.
Modern vehicles basically rely on white/silver/black as the predominant color choices on about 90% of vehicles......all beautifully applied onto that average modern potato shape lol.

One color that I didn't initially think about is the green.
That said, as I see examples of it here on this website....it can really be an outstanding color as well on these and again, not very common on newer vehicles.

What about ochre?.....I thought about this too.
I never used to like the color for years. However, now when I see it...it is a really great period/vintage color for these trucks.

One color that does not get me going tho'....is 100% black with no chrome/bright work....simply not my style, too modern and invisible.... but I don't want to dwell on that, to each his own.

Don't know about the best color but Ochre is defiantly the fastest color.

I have to go with several, Ochre/white. It ages well but most non-truck people hate it. when I had mine at a cruise in, folks would walk by mine and slobber all over a red one or some modern color. You can't go wrong with blue/white or turquoise/ white. Here is my three favorites.

Re: Most popular color? ...thoughtful opinions.

They're all nice. My personal favorites:

Hugger Orange on blazers and SWB stepsides. White top even better. Black top works too.

Light blue on 67-68 SWB fleetside. White top or solid.

Light ("medium") or dark blue on 69-70 SWB or LWB, with white on top and under the lower belt.

Light ("medium") blue, black or Hugger Orange on a 71-72 LWB with white top. 4x4 even better.

Ochre deluxe on a 71-72 SWB fleetside, but then I'm ochre bias.
