Winshield Help

I tried the search feature and came up empty as usual......They say "Google is your friend" but it doesn't seem to be mine right now.

Sitting at a car show last month with my 97 a gust of wind took my glass cowl hood off the prop rod and slammed it standing straight up, I now have a perfect indent of a scoop in my windshield.

I have replaced windshields in older cars with the caulk/silicone type seals, This truck looks like it may be that type seal but has a rubber molding across the top and down both sides.

Can anyone confirm or give me any how to info. on a swap such as this ?

Any insight would be much appreciated......

Re: Winshield Help

Don't know, but LMC, as well as www.latemodelrestoration.com has the rubber. Look at the LMC catalog on-line and see if their drawing (looks like the drawings in a Mitchell crash book) can help. I know that urethane adhesive is the proper one to use. There was another post on the site and the member used the urethane and was happy he did.

There will be one piece across the top and one down each side of the windshield, that you will probably want to replace. If yours are like mine, the sun has done a job on them. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...-Weather-Strip

Re: Winshield Help

Thanks guy's,

I ordered the rubber molding from LMC and found a glass shop that will install a new one at $159 with a $25 travel fee (two hour round trip), I don't think I could drive this gas hungry 502 to them for the $25.....
