Re: Crew cab build

I don't live in Texas so I am unable to recommend a bodyman to you. But if you were local to me I still would not be able recommend anyone as I do not know any professional bodyman would tackle building a crewcab for less than 12 to 15k. That would be the metal work ready for primer and block sanding. Quite frankly you want a lot for a little. It cost me 5k just to paint my Burban with NO metal work. So if you think the site sucks that is fine, just ride into the the sunset quietly, but I'd bet you are going to find further disappointments elsewhere. Condemning the site and all the great people here because they didn't have the answer you wanted is ridiculous or worse

Re: Crew cab build

Best advice that I have already given to you is to be patient and wait for a good deal. I have seen a couple of half completed crew cabs that were given up on but I have too many trucks now so I am told.

Re: Crew cab build

Yeah I seen that one. Iím going to go down the route of buying a suburban and doing it that way I think it would be more cost effective and maybe if I canít find anybody to build it. I will have to do it myself Iím mechanical inclined but donít have much time with work and family

Re: Crew cab build

I did a 3 door burb/crew years ago and sold the cab before I got my truck done. I still kick myself all the time for that!

Re: Crew cab build

I totally agree. I passed on a project cab last fall because the builder cut the a pilars and leaned them back. He cut the b pillar and sloped the roof for a custom roof line. That was too much to undo for me. he had the doors chopped up for it too.

Re: Crew cab build

I really don’t understand the need some have for chopping these trucks. 49 merc, hell yes chop away. These trucks not so much, they have such awesome proportions as they came.
