Re: cutting weight

3200 lbs sounds pretty good to me!

My race car is 3750 with me in it.

I'll follow along and see if I can offer anything (or steal any ideas) after you tell us what you've done so far.

Re: cutting weight

I'm always up for weight reduction, as long as it doesn't involve ME...or taking out my stereo.

Re: cutting weight

^ sounds a little impractical and too permanent to me.. also difficult to handle or remove..

mounting small cargo area for sand bags or mounts for tractor weights or exercise weights would be much easier and adjustable or completely removable..

good luck!

Re: cutting weight

Exercise weights bolted in with a hand style nut that can be removed without tools and possible a safety tractor pin .

Lets just say that plumbing lead flows into lots of places if you can keep it warm.

I know I'm a little late with this, but, I have a tailgate for my '66 that I filled the top half of it with lead shot. This added about 80 lbs. to it. Everything has to be sealed up tight, though, or the shot will leak out. I don't run this gate anymore, as I have worked on the suspension more and have it hooking w/o it. It does make a difference, though.

I have 2 gates, one that is stock weight and one that I cut the top open and added about 100lbs of scrap plate steel I had laying around.

The heavy gate on and down changes the weight bias quite. 125% of the gates weight is seen on the rear tires while 25% of the gates weight come off the front tires. This is simply due to the weight being well behind the axle centerline, the leverage it has on the chassis.
