Working on cab when off the frame
I’ve just installed a one piece floor in my 65 an built a platform out of 2x10s and 2x4s and used the cab mounts to secure cab/floor to the wood and to a rolling cart. I’ve also bolted floor to my A and B pillar locations. I’ve got the firewall tunnel flange lined up pretty good and rear cab flange lined up gonna tack few spots.
I braced cab before any work was done to cab . What I’m wandering is it okay to proceed and weld my A pillar patches and kick/Toe board patches with it sitting on this cart ?? Sure be easier doing this on the cart I’ve done some searching and haven’t come up with a lot . Most guys do repairs on the frame it seems. I don’t wanna get carried away and distort cab Last edited by jrusher; 04-15-2018 at 03:24 PM. |

I would tac weld, then test fit doors and front fenders before finish weld just to be safe.

Re: Working on cab when off the frame
A well braced as your cab is, I think you're fine but, like PDW HOTRODS said, I'd check door fitment every time an old piece is cut out & new piece tacked in.
