72 Chevy Cheyenne K10 wiring

I was working on my 72 72 Chevy Cheyenne K10 last night and I noticed that there's a huge pink wire coming from the firewall and it was just hanging down bundled up behind the distributor area. It looks to be the same gauge of wire as the Purple exciter wire that goes to the starter solenoid.

Is this pink wire the same wire that comes from the ignition key switch? It has a female black factory terminal on the end of the wire, but I don't know where it's supposed to go.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

A pic of the terminal on the end might help with an answer.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne K10 wiring

I didn't think to take a picture of it last night.

I'll confirm this afternoon if it comes from the ignition switch, but I think it's a positive wire for the coil. I'm switching to a HEI dist anyway, but I just wanted to know what it was originally plugged into.

Re: 72 Chevy Cheyenne K10 wiring

I traced the 12ga pink wire and it went to a spade in the middle of the right side of the fuse block.

I just added a wire to the 12ga pink wire on the ignition switch and ran it out to the HEI distributor that I installed in it the night before.

No my pickup doesn't have a factory tach.
