GM Stalk wiper questions

Have a 87 C-10 chevy van column installed and would like to use the stalk lever to control the new aftermarket windshield wiper and add on washer work. The lever works fine for high beam control and the new wiper motor operates fine off the dash mounted switch that came with it. Is there a wiring diagram (for dummies) to show how to make these connections? I googled everything and cam up empty already. Was thinking if i could identify the factory leads I could cut into the 3 position dash switch and have wither one function. I do have the delay module out of the original 84 K10 and would like to make it it work as well. Thanks for any help.

Re: GM Stalk wiper questions

I have an 82 Cady column in mine. I got a factory wiring diagram off of ebay to help figure out some of the same issues. Next time I am in the shop I will grab it and scan or copy the info. Should be close.

Re: GM Stalk wiper questions

Thanks. I did find an engine side harness that has 3 wires. These match those coming from the Steering column. I think i will rest these and see if they aren't the old wiper motor controls.

Re: GM Stalk wiper questions

Here is what is on my column. Eldo wiper was a separate switch on the dash.

Re: GM Stalk wiper questions

i have an 86 astro van column, same stalk lever for all gm vehicles
i tried to ohm the switch without much results as it is designed to go into a wiper control module
it's been a while but i believe mine had a 3 or 4 conductor flat connector
the contacts are microscopic what ever you do, do not apply any load other than a relay load
i believe the delay feeds 0-5 volts to the wiper module
