Tire size info

Hi, don't usually post in this section much. I just picked up a set of chrome wagon wheels from a friend for cheap and wanted to know if they would fit a stock 1997 GMC k2500. They are the correct bolt pattern for this style of truck but his truck was lifted so I don't know if they will rub if I put them on my truck. They are 12" wide and 16.5" diameter. Already found a nice set of tires I can save up for and have mounted, o don't know if I'm wasting my time even bothering with these wheels though. Any help would be great, thanks.

Also if anyone has pictures of what a set of these would look like on one of these trucks that would be great. I never got to see these on my friends truck, by the time I made it out to where he lives he had already changed them and had them waiting to get sold

Re: Tire size info

They will fit, but depending what size tire will look really goofy, or if stock height and again depending on size they won’t fit. Lug pattern is the same.

Re: Tire size info

The factory wheel size on these trucks are 16X6.5". They would stick out past the fenders 5+ inches.

If you are going for the same look that the late model diesel guys go for, it will work out(and still be hideous). And it will demolish your fenders when you turn.

I dont know about MD state laws, but in PA, it's ilegal to have tires sticking out past the fender. The police will pull you over and it won't pass state inspection. You usually don't get into trouble unless they are sticking out more than 2".

Re: Tire size info

I don’t believe they are 12” wide. Even if 10” (ok 9.75”) wide with a 33” they won’t fit. I had a 97 3/4 ton I tried same combo and didn’t come close to fitting.

Re: Tire size info

So now that I know these won't work, most likely going to sell them, but does anyone have a pic of how a chrome wagon wheel that does fit would look on one of these trucks. Can't find any pics online

Must feel really safe living in PA with those common sense laws you got there
