Help!! Frame and Suspension Paint Colors?
Going to sandblast and paint my blazer frame this weekend. I want to restore it as close to factory original as possible, so I need to know what colors/codes for the frame, axels, and various suspension assemblies. I know it can't all be Semi Gloss Black. That would be too easy. Thanks

I painted my frame and all the components with some epoxy OEM chassis black "original" from the eastwoodco. www.eastwoodco.com I do beleive, its about $10 a can, but they have a kit that comes with 4 cans and some rust encapsulator. heres a pic:
 IMO, yer doing the right thing. I had mine glass bead blasted and am sandblasting all the small parts myself, bead blasting the frame is worht every penny. heres this frame before:  Good luck! if you're feelin frisky, you can also look into powder coating, but, before you do that, make SURE you got ALL the rust in the frame, cos if you find something, you can't just patch it with some spray. we found after our frame was blasted (as you can see on my site in the link) that several areas needed tending to after we had blasted and in some cases began to paint. ------------------ Projects Belair '71 C10 LWB to SWB conversion:C10 project page 65Chevelle pics coming soon |

Frame looks awesome. I like the C10 Restoration site. Wish I had taken more pictures of mine before I started the process. Thanks for the post.

thanks, having a digital camera makes a world of difference, it makes things much easier. I wish I would have taken better pictures.. the ones I have are so general.. when I started taking them I was taking them for others to see, but I realized a few weeks ago that I should have been taking them for that and to remind me where things go! lol
GL with yer resto, btw, how do you like that red color? Nice job! I use the Eastwood Chassis black for darn near everything I paint black. Frames, axle housings, spindles a-arms. Good stuff and available by the quart or gallon as well.

Yeah the whole truck is pretty solid. I'd have to get really hard up for cash before I think of selling ya the bed though. I think it would be hell on the passengers in the back.
