Post Any other Western Canadians tired of Winter?

Have a new Edelbrock carb, new body and paint work, and I can't even take the 67 out of the garage to test out the changes I have done over winter.(Don't drive the truck in the snow).

It has been a mild winter up until March arrived. I have a foot of snow on my lawn, and looks like it will be 3 weeks before the roads are dry enough for me to take the classic out. Good thing I have this board to give me my 67-72 fix.
Just venting.

Well I would be really tired of it if I was home. I have been working down here in Texas for going on 14 weeks this winter. I can't wait to get home for good.

Where are you from? I am in Alberta.

Do you know of any good '67-'72 trucks for a decent price to start working on? Preferably something running.

Im just south of Calgary.

There are a few good running ones that I have seen lately, but unless you want one that someone has restored, or partially restored already, they are usually in need of alot of body work.
Bought mine in Sylvan lake last year and it was restored 4 years prior to that. I have sunk another $7,000 in to my 67 to bring it back to a pretty respectible Sunday driver.

I have found good running, rusty, very restorable 67 -72 trucks lately for around $3,000.00

As with anything, it depends on how much you want to spend.

Sylvan Lake!! Damn you bought it out from under me! Thats where I'm from!

I have been watching the trader, seen a couple for around the 3-4000 dollar amount.

Hope to buy one this spring. My current toy is a '71 SS Camaro that I am restoring, but have spent most of my time on my '97 Z28. I have a 383 stroker in it that runs low 11's in the quarter. I plan on putting the stock engine back in the car and selling it. Then I would like to put the LT1 383 in a '68 chevy truck. Complete with all the fuel injection and all. That is my current dream. They change often!

It would be great if you could keep your eyes open and let me know of any trucks that come up for sale. Like I said I am in Texas right now for about another month, so I cannot watch all the papers and such. If you do see a good one, email me at rgrahamca@yahoo.com I would greatly appreciate it!

Have you been to scotts super trucks? Maybe he has something decent there. Picked up ol blue for 700.00. Wasn't looking to spend much at. So for the price she was a steal. Check ou the pics in my signature, you can see hoe far she's come along.

Ya I've been there before with a buddy who has an old truck. But I didn't have the interest then, so I wasn't really looking.

But now I got the bug.

I will definetly go back when I get home.

I just got an email reply back from a guy with a '67 for sale in Calgary, maybe I can hash out a deal!

WOW! Hey Dean, that was one beaten up truck when you got it! You did a great job of fixing it up though.....it looks awesome.

How hard was it to convert to a shortbox? That would be my plan as well.

Oh I see now. I wasn't really reading the pics. His name is Dan. Anyway, yours is coming along......nothing a bit of sweat won't fix! I can't wait to see the finished project!

I know how it is, I restored a '81 4x4, (twice! I rolled it) I know how much work it is to change all the panels and such.

Where are you buying your sheet metal? Scott's ??

If you don't mind, what kind of prices are they?

Hey guys,

I'm tired of freezing my a$$ off every day. It's almost April for cryin' in the soup. I work in the patch outside everyday and it has been hell the last few weeks. And now I went and took a transfer to Fort Mac. Damn, it's even colder up there! Oh well, the paychecks warm a guy up.

Hey Repo,

You should look into buying one in Texas since you're there. I've got a bud down there and he says there is ALL KINDS of old cars and trucks down there RUST FREE! I think you can bring anything over 25yrs old back no duty. Find a driver and go for it! Beats all the rusty crap up here.

I actually have been looking.

But I am sure it would be a major pain in the ass to get permits, and try to get it across the border.

I already know where there is a '66 sitting. I got to try and get there during the day if I can get away from work. It looks completely original and rust free, but its behind a fence.
