K10 suspension

I've looked at Offroad Designs Coilover kit. Looks pretty nice. Are there any other options out there.

Thanks

Re: K10 suspension

I'm not familiar with a coilover kit. What K/10 do you have? When you say coilover I think of shocks. Is that what you mean? More info would help me help you.

Re: K10 suspension

It's a four link kit replacing all leaf springs. It looks like it will take a little bit of fabrication for the hoop towers but definitely doable. 1972 K10

Re: K10 suspension

Is there such thing as a trailing arm bigger coil spring lift. I know there is a 1971 in Bakersfield with this setup

Re: K10 suspension

There is custom springs you can have made,And the type of suspension used depends a lot on how you will use the truck.A rock crawler and a desert racing truck are night and day on set ups.

Ok, that's what I figured, but the "coilover" threw me off. Those are just shocks with coil springs over them. I built a 4-link rear suspension on a '95 K3500 for air bags. It was about hauling capacity and adjusting height, not race inspired.

Re: K10 suspension

ORD's stuff is nice for sure. Fortify Offroad is another place building coil-over/link setups. They focus on the squarebody style, but the earlier isn't far off from it.

Is ORU still doing Conversions for older trucks?

Ive used some of RuffStuff's parts and the quality is unbelievable. Very close to DIY4X4 quality IMO. The kind of stuff you'd build a tank with. They're close by in Loomis.

FWIW, Ive used ORD alongside DIY4x4 and Ruffstuff in my 63" - 52" spring swap and while ORD does make some good parts, they don't come close to the build quality of the DIY and Ruffstuff hangers, plates shackles and hardware.

Not even close.

Re: K10 suspension

Yeah and the brackets are designed for these trucks so it takes a lot of guess work out of other kits.
