Just saw where there was a tornado in Ft. Lauderdale. Those are popping up all over.

Doing fine so far. Still have power, but I suspect not for long. Water is probably a foot over the drive way by now..little higher than normal down pours. Branches thumping on the roof...not much I can do about it right now. Lights are starting to flicker...
Just watching the news and whether channel for the latest Irma movement like everyone else.
Had a couple shots of Tequila and a beer chaser with daughter and son-in-law earlier. It's all good for now. LOL. Thanks for asking 72

Updates? My parents house, and boats made it. Power is out, but flooding was biggest fear, so far they are good. Sister got some wind damage but they are safe as well. Hope everyone did as well!

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Brian....what's the latest on in Ft Lauderdale?

Here in Titusville/Space Coast we lost power as expected last night just after my last post. Flooding, but no damage. Water front property now with the swap motif. A lot of downed trees, spent the morning clearing the driveway with chain saw in knee deep water.

Damn that's a lot of water. Hopefully it'll start dropping quickly. At least your house is still standing.

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

I think we have to rely on evaporation, the sun is out and it is breezy. The ground is saturated. That is the new water table you are looking at
The only car that can get out the driveway is my son-in-laws Suburban. We haven't tried it yet...

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Did your house get wet or is it just up to the foundation?

We're getting the rain here in SC now. Not too bad, just a steady non stop downpour. Wind isn't too bad. We were very beneficial of all of the westward shifts, we were initially (and for quite a few days) somewhat in the eye's path.

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

It really makes you think what can happen due to weather. Where I live it gets cold and we have the odd blizzard here and there but I'll take that over losing a home or worse. Wishing all in that zone safety and fast recovery from damage.

Luckily it was just the foundation...another 3-4 inches an we would have been screwed.
Wondering if we are going to go back to AZ.....

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Had a little flooding but didn't get in the house, putting the new 10k generator to good use sure does burn a lot of gas when the a/c is turned on.Using about .75 gallons per hour under full load.Been taking gas from the 48 ford

Considering a generator, it's one of those things you only use maybe one a year, but it would make life during those periods a lot more comfortable. Daughter using motor home freezer and as a recharge power source for this iPad.

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

I heard things are bad down there. I'm from Ft Lauderdale and moved away about a year ago. My parents and siblings still live down there. A few trees were knocked down at my parents home but that's it. I hope all is well

Thumbs up Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Glad all those in Florida are OK. Property can be cleaned up and stuff.
Here in SC we had a some wind and rain. I lost power for 23 hrs. The generator was a pleasure to have for sure. Once you buy one you will find things to use it for.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
