Yeah, that was me you sold the parts to. Dont know if you saw it or not but I was cruisin the 66 around on the friday night cruise night before the show in Dayton. If I had known that was your truck I would've looked for ya. Actually I think I may have seen you near the stage and the truck. Just didn't recognize you.

I didn't get there untill Saturday and it was a very busy day with the show, set-up and playing. I know we will bump into each other again. RETREAD will be playing at the Walla Walla show in Sept. on the 12th and again at The Whitman Hotel for a wedding on the 19th of September. You could run down for the Cool Desert Nights or the 4th shows. Rock on Marv!

Awesome Impala

I love the truck and I am really diggin' the metal bomb below the rear plate. Where did you find it? I would like that as a shifter handle.

I might steal your bed floor idea.

No pictures but I will give you an idea of what I did. I just cut away at the upper part of the cross member drive shaft hole until I had enough clearance for suspension travel. This left only a small arch of material in the center top of the cross member. I felt that it weakened the cross member too much so I welded on a matching arch shaped backer to strengthen the cross member(bent flat bar). As you may know they make after kits for this but you should be able to "get-er-done". Alot depends on how much travel you have and how low you go. I feel mine is as low as I can go without bagging it. I do scrape the header flanges from time to time. Oh yah, I also cut holes in the frame for the exhaust then turned it out just in front of the back tires. I also notched the step (see posted pic's) and added a 3" collector. I reinforced the frame holes with "doughnuts" welded around the cut holes. The last thing i did was to make extended shock mounts for the new air shocks. This gives me a little adjustability. You can do it. Hope this helps. Rock On! Marv

My father-in-law dug it up while farming here in eastern Washington it may have been some kind of training aid way back when. I thought of the shift knob idea but it was to heavy for my application. The license plate idea has been used by others in this area so its all fair game to me. However I think I'm the only one with a snare drum for an air cleaner. How do you like my key chain tail gate? I must admit that I"m not afrade to steal ideas. Rock On Marv!

Thanks Retread. I really dig your truck. Has A lot of orginality. Kinda makes me wish I would have just left my paint job the way it was. I'm just learning how to play the guitar. I don't care if it is just a fake one and it's on X box. I love it. My truck going to have a Xbox in the dash and a plastic drum set in the bed. Loved the bed idea so much I stole it. Cabs next.
