Here is my gauge panel that I made. I kept the original speedometer and used a piece of sheet metal to cover what I didnt want. Then I went had a sticker made for the speedo numbers. I also use arcrylic for the lens that I bought at home depot.

Has anyone come up with a good way to fill or hide the holes in the frame for the switches and ignition, etc... that aren't being used any more? I would like to do this and maintain the horizontal line detail if possible. I am going to set mine up like wildstangracing's dash

Here's one for a GMC I painted the back ground satin black and it looks a little better but I'm still not satisfied, I found some engine turned alunimun sheet stock at www.speedwaymotors.com Part # 911-39520-24 6x24" .063 thick so it shouldn't be to hard ti cut out in the stock configuration as back ground. The stock bezel on these are plastic, does any one know of any where that you could get the plastic chrome plated again there must be somebody doing this somewhere don't you think? I do like the stock configuration with the exception of the idiot lights I may get some smaller jewel faceted lights instead and put in there place. Anybody have anymore ideas for

Here be mine, the stock look before and the custom made insert with analog dial after (I do not like idiot lights) I simply took the natural layout and replace the lights with gauges. The tach and Clock are GMC OEM pieces and work great.

Does the GMC gauge cluster fit into a chevy? I like how the GMC has the round individual gauges.

No they are specific to the GMC's

You could have the same look with aftermarket gauges......

In the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks, the only part that is the same on the gauge cluster and warner light cluster, is the bezel, so it is better to find a gauge cluster, instead of trying to modify a warning light cluster.

I guess I should re-phrase the question . . .... If I have a 'warning-light cluster' & wish to upgrade to a factory style 'gauge cluster', what do I need to do?

Basically yes. The GMC gauge panel is longer and I believe narrower that a 64-5-6 Chevy gauge panel. Plus the GMC's still had the switches in the dash below the gauge panel, similar to the '60-'63 Chevy's

In addition to the gauge panel, you will need the wire harness that connects the panel to the connector that is attached to the pedal bracket under the dash. The oil pressure is a mechanical gauge, so you will need to run a line for that. And of course you will need the correct sending unit for the H2O temp. I believe that is all that is needed.
