Project "Tuna can"

After years of neglection I'm finally getting around to building the K5. Had it for 9 years and this is what it looked like when I was driving it.

Re: Project "Tuna can"

Did you wash it with hot water?

So what are your plans for it?

Re: Project "Tuna can"

Sorry about not telling you about the plans. 14bolt front and rear both centered. LSX w/4l80e and SCS 10.5" drop box.(more about that later)

So this has been shortened front and rear and I'm trying to fix the frame at the moment. Here are some pics of of who did the fabrication before.

See the difference in rear body mount hieght? I'm thinking I should fix this while I'm boxing the frame. Your thoughts?

Re: Project "Tuna can"

So this is where they shortened the frame. There was angle iron on the top that I remedied and made the frame look factory. I have a 89k5 frame that is the donor for the boxing plates. I already started cutting that one to fit. I also have the ORD steering box brace installed and ready weld
