Bucket seats not original

These seats were in a 1970 GMC 1 tom C3500 that had a camper on the back. Does anyone know if these are original seats? I suspect they are not.

Re: Bucket seats not original

BTW, the whole seat pivots forward. The back of the seat rests on the floor.

Re: Bucket seats not original

Didn't think so. Almost looks like a boat seat. But shaped like a Chevelle seat - atleast from photos I have seen.

Re: Bucket seats not original

It does look pretty similar to the motorhome and some van body seats I have seen from 67-72.

Re: Bucket seats not original

I agree. I have seen them in several C30s. They sorta look like squarebody buckets, but not really - and that is exactly what I recall about the ones I've seen in other motorhomes. Did the truck they came out of have the back of the cab cut out somehow to access the camper? Doesn't mean they are original I guess, but I wonder if it was a specific supplier/mfgr that provided these somewhat "different" buckets for motorhomes only on occasion. Having said that, still, the majority of the motorhomes I've seen have had the stock buckets that we normally see in regular ol 67-72 trucks, if they had buckets at all.

Re: Bucket seats not original

Are the backs covered with a metal plate? The Utility buckets look something like that and the passenger one on Panels had a fold and flip feature. Also, please post a pic of the mounting.

Re: Bucket seats not original

Yes the back of the cab was cut out. The back of seat is not metal. Look kinda rigged up but like mentioned i guess it could have been added when the camper was installed.
