My new exhaust pics

A couple months ago i decided to put an exhaust on my 2010 gmc, so i took it down to my local shop, Jones muffler in Ben wheeler. he does outstanding work.

I had him cut my factory muffler off, throw in a Y pipe, and from there its 2-1/4 pipe into 5x18 angle cut tips. with no muffler and 5 inch tips it has a very nice deep rumble, and it resonates less and sounds better than any flowmaster ive ever heard.. Ive never cared for the sound they give and the amount of resonance they produce.

anyways, heres some pics. let me know what you think!

Re: My new exhaust pics

You ought to throw a set of headers on the front end and eliminate the resonator that is under the cab. That opens the exhaust up real nice.

I did my 2011 GMC with Kooks headers and "Y" pipe, then put on a magnaflow 3" inlet and dual 2 1/2" outlets that run to the rear bumper. It is quite talkative, now.

Re: My new exhaust pics

I like the way you think, Headers will be added later whenever the truck has some more miles on it, to avoid warranty issues. and that resonator you speak of, is it just a reeeeally little muffler or is it a 3rd catalytic convertor?

From what I see, it is a small resonator ONLY.

Re: My new exhaust pics

My system had two cats and four O2 sensors, with a resonator on the 'Y' pipe and then a really restrictive muffler on the truck. The new system has two headers, new 'Y' pipe with two cats, the same four O2 sensors and then the Magnaflow muff and dual tail pipe outlets.
