I believe this is the first song I ever heard by JJ Cale. I remember I was rolling up Hwy101 between Fortuna and Eureka in my '66 VW Bus. First song on his "Oakie" album. He instantly became one of my favorites:

Yes he was. They called him The Breeze. His guitar style was so freakin' clean, pure, and simplistic, while having a complexity to it. You could tell there was so much more, but kept in reserve. No show off, he was. Could care less about fame. His rhythms were syncopated into the melodies in a special blend of gourmet.

I listen to an excellent college station (WTMD) so I get a wide spectrum. Always did listen to such non-format type stations to keep my music awareness broad. I hate most of that crap!

Just kidding.

But I keep wanting to go back. I guess I never stop listening to what I love while finding new stuff all the time.

If you don't like this song, you don't like incredible guitar playing. This was like 1970 and Rory put an acoustic guitar to a rock song with more sound than most did on electric, other than all out noise. This is clean guitar here

When I was 12 my first live show experience I saw Kid Rock (my favorite artist at the time, thanks to my dad), Def Leopard, Public Enemy, and Devo (Music Midtown Atlanta little over a decade ago). Now you're talking. I grew up with the delta blues. My dad was a fan from way back when and had 78s. He would sit down with a guitar or banjo and strum and sing these tunes. He planted the seed in me.

I’ll probably definitely be the odd man out on here but I listen to a lot of death metal. I always deeply disturb everyone in my area with my 1,000 watt stereo in my Honda Civic haha

I was exposed to it at six years old and have never gone back, just got heavier and heavier. Now I listen to quite a bit of slam and brutal death metal. Acranius, Analepsy, Organectomy, Hideous Divinity (Most insane drummer I’ve ever heard), Cytotoxin. This stuff is seriously heavy and may cause bleeding of the nose from head banging so hard, so listener beware

I also listen to more traditional death metal like Amon Amarth. Lately I’ve been really getting into Symphonic metal though, it combines classical, orchestrated music with metal. There’s some serious talent in this genre. My favorites are Sirenia (only their album Dim Days of Dolor), Epica, Delain, and Kamelot, and Solution.45, who has the greatest vocalist of all time in my opinion, only guy who can do vocal fry, gutturals, and still sing like an angel. I have over 2,000 songs that are all metal. Nobody will probably want links to this stuff but I’ll post them for the halibut.

Post it up, Please I’ll probably definitely be the odd man out on here but I listen to a lot of death metal. I always deeply disturb everyone in my area with my 1,000 watt stereo in my Honda Civic haha I was exposed to it at six years old and have never gone back, just got heavier and heavier. Now I listen to quite a bit of slam and brutal death metal. Acranius, Analepsy, Organectomy, Hideous Divinity (Most insane drummer I’ve ever heard), Cytotoxin. This stuff is seriously heavy and may cause bleeding of the nose from head banging so hard, so listener beware I also listen to more traditional death metal like Amon Amarth. Lately I’ve been really getting into Symphonic metal though, it combines classical, orchestrated music with metal. There’s some serious talent in this genre. My favorites are Sirenia (only their album Dim Days of Dolor), Epica, Delain, and Kamelot, and Solution.45, who has the greatest vocalist of all time in my opinion, only guy who can do vocal fry, gutturals, and still sing like an angel. I have over 2,000 songs that are all metal. Nobody will probably want links to this stuff but I’ll post them for the halibut.
