I don't know if it has been discussed here, but this is reportedly one of two ordered by the California Highway Patrol in 1969..http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/18887150

Re: 1 of 2..

I have been drooling over this truck for about 5 years. The price has always been elevated to more than I can pay each time I ask. I checked about 1 month ago and the pricetag was $8900. If it was a special order truck for the highway patrol, it was a really special order truck as, according to my chevrolet redbook production #s, there were no 3/4 ton panel 4x4s produced in 1969 or 1970. I cant really read the spid or badges to see if it was an original 3/4 ton or if the axels had simply been changed out. If its truly real, Its probably the rarest panel I have ever seen. I sure wish I lived closer to check it out closer. Its a really cool truck and in good shape!

Re: 1 of 2..

Do I feel dumb. I just bought a panel and must have them stuck in my brain. Redbook states only 289 3/4 burbs with rear doors. Still a rare one.

Now that's a push bumper you can move some cars out of the way with.

Red face Re: 1 of 2..

I had one of those 69 3/4 ton 4x4s with rear doors. I ended up putting a 67 panel on the frame and drivetrain. I hate when I am stupid!!

Dude, let me know how that transaction goes and please send me pictures if you can! I have emailed these guys, but I get no responses. This company is the only one I have found that makes the old bias off roaders.

Am I just blind, or does this have the invisible shifter for the t-case?

Re: 1 of 2..

Realistically, WIW?

Pro: Can't beat the Protect-o-Plate
Unlimited cool factor once the radios, antennae and door decals are installed.
Top side of the body looks OK

Con: Rode hard and put away wet
How complete is it? (T-case is the tip of the iceberg, I'm betting)
JC Whitney AC unit on the floorboard

What say you?
