headlight 90 degrees rotated?!?!

So, I went to replace the headlight lamps on my (new to me) '71 and the left side lamp will only fit in the headlight bucket 90 degrees rotated from the correct position. The right side mounts correctly. What gives? If I leave it this way, the high beam is going to light up the sidewalk.

Re: headlight 90 degrees rotated?!?!

Headlight bucket is incorrect for the year or mounted wrong.

Re: headlight 90 degrees rotated?!?!

I think they well only mount one way, so you probably have a right side bucket in there.

This makes sense. I did not realize there was a right and left. I will order a left and see if the issue is resolved. Thanks.
