Time to install a top and see how far out of whack things are from being rolled. Middle of windshield frame is squashed down. Left pillar is bent back,and someone has already pushed the cowl ahead so the door would shut. I slid the top back, and moved the cowl rearward to fit the door to bedside gap. I then bolted a piece of conduit from the dash to the floor near the B pillar, so I could jack the windshield pillar ahead. I also jacked the middle of the opening up.
Windshield fits the opening pretty good, door to bedside is getting close as well.

Door gaps from one side to the other are looking pretty good. I also installed the new body mounts at this time.

Now that I've had some sandblasting done, I have a better idea of the rust that must be dealt with. As always, it just keeps getting worse!

Rust has eaten away the rear floor, as well as the rear cross sill.

It has power brakes and wasn't listed on the SPID. With all the other options I was surprised it wasn't listed, but you can see its there. Just an observation.

This one was pretty bad. Thats a lot of patching and jacking for sure. I'm interested in how you straighten out the tailgate, please post how that gets done. How do you even come up with an estimate to do a project like this for the customer? Time and materials as they come?

I'm betting the power brakes are required with the 350 option. Therefore it isn't listed.
Just like if you order a tach, the gauges are required, so gauges aren't listed. Just a guess. I know that disc brakes were standard equipment beginning in 71. I thought power was optional, although I have seen them listed somewhere as standard. I have several 72's in my possession, all with power brakes, but none have them listed.
As far as pricing, I give my best guess with the understanding that 'time and materials" is what is required for any work of this nature. Anytime something is done on a set price, someone is going to loose. And nobody can stay in business working for free.

Yes, this my shop. I do stay pretty busy. I normally like to keep 3 or 4 big projects going at any given time. Right now I have about 8 in various states of progress.

A few more pics. Rear cross sill is fixed. Needs a lower bed patch on right side. They don't have the indent, so I had to hammer it in. Also added the reinforcement piece, that the support rod bolts to. Lower bed pillar also needs work.

I made the lower pillars and some misc. pieces. Cleaned up the inside of the box, coated in POR, and then a shot of undercoat.

The only way to get the floor under the seat, is to buy the one piece floor. I was going to do that, but since this isn't a frame off, and I'm not replacing the rocker boxes, it wasn't going to work. I scrounged a good piece from a parts cab in the yard. I had to transfer the seat latch reinforcement.
Rear floor piece installed, front floor support, and outer floor piece installed. Also had to replace the lower kick panel area.

Front floor installed, everything welded together, and ground. I like to undercoat the inside of rockers and other hidden areas, before everything is closed up.

Lower B pillar and inner pillar support sprayed with weld through primer, and ready to install. Bed patch and rocker on. I missed a couple pics of the inner and B pillar, but they are on as well. I kept the doors on for this entire floor, rocker, bed patch replacement so I could make sure nothing moved around and messed up my desired gaps.
