Got some work done yesterday on the cab. My barrel transmission tunnel is done and my fire wall is now smoothed out. Thanks to Rob pinkerton for the help!

Great fix on the trans tunnel.
What size barrel did you use?

Re: 1959 Apache Reborn

You are correct, it was a 35 gallon grease barrel with a lot of trimming. We also learned these things are thinner then we though which made working it into shape easier then expected.

Re: 1959 Apache Reborn

Thanks for the replies fellas. Yeah the barrel was just an idea one night at work. It really came together nicely. We trimmed a good bit off of it. It was pretty thin stuff so Rob had his work cut out for himself welding it between the "beer can thin" grease keg and the old floor.

Little paint done. Only thing I have time for right now. Also have the new spot for the shop breaking ground!

Re: 1959 Apache Reborn

Well spent a few hours putting in the new LS oil pan setup on the 5.3 and also installed the torque converter a few days ago. Then I cleaned it up with a little high heat paint and decided to test fit the front end for hood clearance and was very pleased with the 2 inches between the hood and the engine cover!

Re: 1959 Apache Reborn

Started working on the bed trying to get it ready for the drop. I had to notch the inside of the bed to go around the axle. Also gonna have to fab up a notch brace for the main crossbar of the bed closest to the cab so that when aired out it does not hit the drive shaft. Also got a taskforce Era shirt. Pretty awesome!

Re: 1959 Apache Reborn

Hey Matt, if you think about it how about bringing a coil cover to work one day. I want to see how they look and if they will work on mine with the reversed intake.
Thanks,
Rob
