Any help/ideas of bouncing puller??

I have been trying to get the bounce out of my puller and have had a some success, but anyone have any help/ideas.
Rear is locked solid for the pulls. Rear axle has ladder bars. Hitch runs solid to the frame just under cab rear. Front springs are clamped to reduce spring wrap with torqe arms to the center of the frame. Running 35 inch BFSs with 60 psi. Truck runs in 4500-5500lb class and I weigh 5480lbs. I am not allowed to hang any weight on the front even if I droped weight somewhere. I have gotten a few 1st, but more broken parts than places. The biggest problem is it's short wheelbase. Due to the hop I have to get on and off the gas and I loose momentum. I'm thinking of a shorter tire for less side wall. 33s?? have 4:56 gears.

How about limiting straps on the front end? I'd play with raising or lowering the hitch. Get a slow motion side video? I'm an old drag racer.

Re: Any help/ideas of bouncing puller??

I've never done any pulling to say so (do stuck trucks and tractors count?) But relating to test hill at the dunes, most people get bouncing like that because of tire pressure. Why 60 psi? COuld you try 30 or so and see if you get better results? With less pressure you'll increase your traction too...
Good luck and that's a nice truck you've got!

Re: Any help/ideas of bouncing puller??

I'm not allowed to add weight in my class, so I can't hang any. My hitch is ajustable and I have wanted to try that, I'm running it at 26" now thats the max allowed. If I drop the height then I will drag more of the sled than carry it. I run 60 lbs on the tires because I have tried various pressures and the lower the pressure, the more sidewall flex and bounce thats why I'm thinking a shorter tire = less side wall flex/spongyness and less hop. I should then be able to run less pressure. I have tried limiting straps on the front, actually chaining it down by pulling the axle to the frame about three inches of compression. With only about 5 pulls a year around here it is hard getting it dialed in.

Here are a couple from the side, if they will help diagnose.

Re: Any help/ideas of bouncing puller??

looks like most of the hop is comming from the front susp. .... do u have the stock leif springs up there ? if so do the rules say tht you can 4 link it ? id try that and/or some 56 in springs or diff shock valving. also i ws thinking with all that bouncing the floats in the carb must be bouncing also ... and maybe swpping to fuel injection would help with the (if thats cusing sputter and or fuel slosh) bouncing. thats just my 2cents
