My Uni-Buddy
Spent a day hanging with my grandson (2) last week. He really likes grandpas hot rod truck. Its very loud inside, no insulation of any kind, just the sheet metal so it really resonates in the cab. Its actually much louder in the cab than outside lol. Had him pose for a pic.
I'm not good about hanging on to my projects, but I'm going to try to hang on to this one so he can have the story like so many of you have ... "This was my grandpas truck, I grew up with it in the family, now its mine" ... Hope no one ever tosses a good offer at me for it Also tossing in a couple of pics from this weekend. One of my employees (nephew heh) painted the top yesterday.

Re: My Uni-Buddy
Love those unibodies. I'll help. Every kid should have a chance to one day have Grandpa's old truck.

Re: My Uni-Buddy
Nice looking uni-body.
My brother had a 62 that had a 4.6 modular with an over drive and a 4 link. He sold it after it was all finished and has regretted it ever since. Kim |

Re: My Uni-Buddy
there's just something about a "grampa's truck". My 68 I bought from our neighbor who treated me like a grandson.

Re: My Uni-Buddy
Thanks for the nice comments! Its basically a Ford skin lol. Chevy engine and trans. Mopar suspension in front. Chevy steering column and Chevy seat. Aftermarket wiring and gauges. It does have a Ford nine inch in the rear, and part of the frame is still Ford.
Best of all worlds I guess

Re: My Uni-Buddy
Yeah. They'll be a lot of memories for him with that truck.
My three grandsons all love my 79. " Papa, We takin the lowrider ? " and you know if I add something or make a little change they'll notice it every time.

Re: My Uni-Buddy
Ha Ha .. that's pretty funny (really is)
Now you are going to have me searching for something from an International that looks cool ... oxymoron? Don't need a gas tank, this one was custom built for the truck .... Hmmm any one have any ideas, something from an International? Oh thought I would toss this in ... He calls me Pa, which I think is very cool. He did call my wife Ma for awhile, but now he calls her Grandma. She likes either way of course. My Granddaughter who is nine now, called me Crap pa when she was figuring out the talking thing ... I think I like Pa better lol.

Lookin' good Mark. I guess it depends on how he bonds with it as he is growin' up. If he shows no interest in it later it might not work out. I see way too many family members sellin' Grandpas truck or car that he left to them. That sucks in my book, but you can't control it.... Best of luck on it. LockDoc
