Front Trailer Hitch Ideas

I found this in another thread.
I want to do something similar to my 66 C20.
Anybody have other ideas?

The rear hitch is pretty much the same but with longer side rails to handle larger moments from heavier tongue loads.

Re: Front Trailer Hitch Ideas

the above looks good, only thing I would change is widen the attachment to the top of the rail as well, boxing the frame completely..

the overhanging load pull on that would tend to twist depending on intended use..

typical rear receivers attach at two or three points 12"-18" down the frame to overcome that torsion..

in the front, spring hangers or other suspension components may not make that feasible..

I build things like that strong enough to hang the truck from it.. ya' know, just in case you need to hang the truck from it

adjust height to clear lower edge of bumper when installed and adjust depth considering the length of the drawbars you have..

good luck!

Re: Front Trailer Hitch Ideas

Thanks,
I'm not going to use it for anything but moving things around on my property.
Years ago I had one that simply hooked over the front bumper.
