Re: while im thinking about it

My '54 had "wind wings" and I too wanted a 1 piece look. I found it was easier to switch to a '47-'50 style that came that way from the factory. Your stock window won't have the internal tracks to glide up and down the correct way. Don't get me wrong, it can be done, but if you haven't done any body work to your doors, look for some older style ones with out the wind wings. I also liked the crank handles of the older ones. '54 doors had different "push button" handles. I hope this helps.

Re: while im thinking about it

Im not even sure if I have them, I got the truck as a body on frame and boxes full of parts. So I will look and find out, if I do have them and get rid of them you'll be first on the list...

i think you would find it eaiser then surgery on the door. i'ts hard enough just to remove the window much less installing one thats not made for it... new doors arn't cheep but you may find something on evilbay that may fit the bill. i was talking to a guy that is parting out 3 complete trucks. look for him @ http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/jimbo59chevy/.... i'm waiting to hear back from him Greg
