What are your plans with it? Is it original under the hood? It's great to see another 4 lighter on the form. Keep us posted...

Re: 58 chevrolet

yes its original it stilll has the 235/3 on the tree and has only 98654 miles thanks to my grandpa. I pretty much want to keep it as original as possible I need to install all new wires, glass, rubber, brakes, ect.... I would however like to change the bed to a fleetside or cameo,(fleetside pref, if anyone has a lead on a fleetside bed let me know asap they are hard 2 find) and lower it 3 inches. Any ideas on lowering it??? I thought a bout mono leafs all around, will this work??? Or if someone has a better idea let me know.
By the way I love this forum

Re: 58 chevrolet

thank you verry much .
i thought i would need a verry long hydraulic cylinder to get the bed up far enough, the sissor like the one in youre truck is a great solution , i think next time hes in a boatwreckingyard he going to have to take a few pieces of thick hullplating with him to cut those sissorpieces out of

Re: 58 chevrolet

A word of caution on this old hydraulic stuff. always put a brace between the bed and frame when ever working on it with the bed up. if it goes down and your cought in it asprin won't make the pain go away thats if you feel anything afterwards
