yep your right, currently I have no way of getting oil into the block and no breathers, I didnt want to rush into making a decision on cutting the valve covers, so now I think I will be drilling the oil hole in the manifold where it is blocked off right now. that will make it look a little more orginal and wont cost me anything but a hole saw to drill it.

Re: here's my truck 65 c20

Well its been awhile since I have had any time to do any work on my truck, but that has not stopped me from buying more trucks. Yesterday I brought home a 66 c20 that had all kinds of goodys in it. It had a buddy bucket seat, factory added, along with a factory under dast ash tray that was hiding under the buddy bucket seat, what a find......LOL also the truck came with factory power steering that I will be adding to 60 thru 66 parts. I have also started back on the dana 70 rear brakes conversion, I bought a set of ruff stuff brackets to modify for my rear end brake conversion because they didnt make a set for my rear end.

Rear bumper

Well I found a chrome rear bumper with brackets to put on my truck so now all I have to do is to figure out whether I will powder coat the bumper or leave it chrome?

Also started on my new cab, that I just got from a 66, as it was in better shape than the orginal cab that I had on my 65. here is a photo of the rocker panel being cut off and a new old rocker panel will be installed later this week.

Re: here's my truck 65 c20

Worked on my dash cluster the last two weekends, Thanks goes out to theastronuant for his build thread on dash gauges
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=559922 pretty much followed his thread to redo my gauges, I completely disassembled it then sand blasted every part that I could, after that is was all about painting.

Looks great. Did that tach come in there originally or did you get it later and put it in there.

I recently picked me up a cluster with the gauges and want to do a tach also.

Talking Re: here's my truck 65 c20

Well after a year of really not doing anything except collecting parts for my truck I decided it was time to go outside and play with my truck so the first order of business was to install the power steering unit, after I got every thing installed I notice that the pump pulley didn't line up with the crank pulley so I pressed the crank pulley on as far as it would go then I had to pressed (beat the crap out of ) the water pump pulley to get it to move backwards toward the engine block, once that was done it was time to figure out how to line up the power steering pump........I havent figure out how to do this one yet.

Re: here's my truck 65 c20

Budman, your looking for pulley part number 3791943 . It will be stamped in the face of the pulley. Its a single groove pulley that should be offset differently. It will be interesting to see if this later truck PS setup will line up correctly , I think I was wrong in your other thread on this, it may just be the pulley that makes the difference. Heres the page from the truck parts book.

makes it tough on the water pump bearing unless the backside of the bearing hub is supported.
just make a shim the thickness of the distance you need to make up and install between the brkt and eng block and the support brkt going back to the eng mount
