Repro outside door handles quality?

Anyone using outside reproduction door handles? Im curious about your overall experience with them. Would you buy again?

If you like them please let me know who you got them from ... Thanks.

BTW Im not talking about the cool billet made ones, only actual factory style reproduction handles.

I bought a pair of them for the Red/White '71 Chevy K20 when I built it. I purchased them from my local parts vendor and he buys most of his parts from Classic Parts in Missouri, so I'm pretty sure that's where they came from.

Fit good and looked good. I can't attest to longevity because I took the truck to the "All Truck Nationals" show in Kansas City about a month after I finished it and sold the truck at the show.

I have them on one of my ‘67’s there fine, just like the chrome on repop bumpers they need constant polishing to remain rust spot free.

Re: Repro outside door handles quality?

I have one on my driver side door. It was before I found the thread about the easy fix for our doorhandles. It’s been on there about two years and I haven’t had any problems, but I’m not too worried about the quality of the chrome considering my truck is a work truck. I just took a look at it in the crumb looks pretty good though.

One issue I had was there I originally bought a reproduction 67 door handle without knowing it. It wasn’t disclosed and it was the same part number as a 68, so that was a little annoying. I think I got that one on Amazon, so be careful when ordering it. I ended up getting the right one from RockAuto.

Mine have been on the 71 for years. No problems . I bought from Tommy's pickups in Shelby NC.
Tommy just retired this year.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Repro outside door handles quality?

I have a set from Summit that fit well and looked good. Not a lot of money. Around $35.00. Been on the truck for a year and a half and I drove the truck every day up until I started body work a couple of months ago. So far so good.
