That was great! That would have been the perfect training for all Chevrolet salesmen. I’m glad to see my biases are founded in facts, not just personal preferences. I wonder what the sticker price comparison was for similarly equipped Fords from 67’ to 72’..... I would hope the lesser brand at least could brag about their lower priced vehicles, because you definitely wouldn’t get the same level of features.

I remember when Maryland started registering separately from trucks in the early-70s, mostly due to increased passenger Van use. We had MPV tags/registration. That's Multi Purpose Vehicle. I thought that was perfect. Similar to the military's 'Jeep' which came from GP, General Purpose. It didn't suggest it's use the way SUV does, which generally does not apply today

Cool grouping of sales training movies. Just think, they did all that for sales personnel, not even advertising. I guess I have those in my communication kit. I don't have a projector to view. You guys realize the testing had a slant to it even though it was done by an independent testing firm. I think some were and some weren't. I never had smoking brakes from running down through the hairpins on similar roads. I wouldn't want my fingertips on that rotor, either, if they were braking that hard. GMs were certainly ahead of the curve through these years, though. Ford didn't do disc brakes until '77 I believe, for instance. Funny how Dodge wasn't even in the game, and that's how I remembered it.

Now that these new trucks have become classic trucks I like both brands. I think the little Broncos are very cool. But when you watch all the side by side comparisons and action, the Chevys (in my eye) are really a much better looking truck.

I remember when I was a kid in the early 80's, we went to Pikes Peak, where that test was done, and they would stop you on the way down to check your brakes and if they were too hot, they made you wait until they cooled down. The brakes on my dad's '83 ford van were smoking, and of course by that year they were discs, so it does happen. You're right though, touching that rotor would probably have resulted in some missing fingerprints!

I noticed at the 15:10 mark the narrator says you can order your Blazer with a 4-speed transmission, but the video show the shifter for the transfer case.
