K30 V30 Front Spring ?'s - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Truck spec... 87 K30, big block with a/c. Its a wrecker so a nice heavy push bumper is installed...

My front springs are soft. I want to replace them, but not 100% sure what to do...

LMC offers a 3 spring pack for a k20, but of course not k30. Are they the same weight rating?

If not, anyone have a good idea on where to get a replacemt set of springs? I do not want to lift it.

Find another set of front springs and add a leaf to your current pack.
If you were closer I'd give you a set

ok trust me on this go to a real spring shop and have them make a set for you. ad to do it in mine for the rears. i think the rears were 5 packs i have 14 plus 4 over load and that was form factory

I have several sets laying around but I've done that before with poor results... Thanks anyway.

I have a semi local shop that will build a set... but for $500/pair I thought it was too much.

500 is not all that bad for a made set. that is what i paid for the ones in my dad g30hd.
i paid over 1300 for the ones in the rear of te wrecker i have then the install to. i let them do it do to rust

Call them. They used to list front springs for these trucks. I bought my rear springs from them and they were the cheapest place I found, and i did a lot of looking. They were great to work with. After ordering I called and asked for a sale discount they offered that had expired shortly before I ordered and they gave me the discount.

give ATS Spring a try, they have 4 leaf 1900 lb front springs. i have been running their HD 3800 lb r. springs on my k30 crew for about 3 yrs now. heavy hauling & towing & their still like new.

Update... A little googling reveled a OE part number for the 3 leaf HD's, which then led me to NOS springs on feabay. I ended up buying 2 sets for $533 delievered. My little bro was needing a set too, so he was nice enough to pay have the bill.

Not sure it they have stock height springs but I know that Sky Jacker makes springs for K30s. We put a lifted set on our K30 dually.
