What did you do with the holes in your dash?

I removed everything from an originally AC 72 GMC truck. I've got the two ball vents and other vents, as well as the main controller unit. I also removed the aftermarket stereo, which left the DIN-sized hole. I think the options are:

1. Leave the vents in place with no ductwork behind them, and the controller head with nothing behind it, just for the look.

2. Take these visual pieces out too, and cover with some sort of delete plates. Potentially using the space to mount other gauges if needed.

3. Leave the big empty spaces, and call them speed holes.

What do you think? Not a show truck (obviously), just a fair weather driver.

I put the vents back in (no duct work), but I kept the heater and defrost. The side and center vents are just there for looks. The heated air dumps on the floor (bottom center) or at the defrost vents. I kept the AC control panel and used the spare lever to control the passenger side kick panel vent. Some creative cable routing and bracketry and it works.

If all of it were deleted and removed, I would put a box behind the dash where the control panel was and use it as a cubby hole for things like a phone, glasses, etc.
