Mud Drag Truck vs. Street/Mud Truck

I am considering stripping the interior, custom dash, roll cage, cut bed floor out, install fuel cell in bed, and relocating radiator to bed. Need some input on a few things. Should I convert it to a mud drag setup or make slight changes. Either way I am going to be relocating the radiator to the bed. Ideas on how and what to use.

I think it depends on the purpose, all out race or weekend warrior

I went this way in a square . I didn't move the radiator because of the rules of the class I ran but if you look at the picture you can see that the radiator would be covered up with the bed cut out.

Re: Mud Drag Truck vs. Street/Mud Truck

Put the stuff on a S-10. It has alot of advantages. Lighter in the mud and easier on the tow rig. Plus it keeps that ole chevy together so you can enjoy it on the street. S-10's are a dime a dozen...paid $100 bucks for mine. Rust free, dent free, just had to pull the blown motor out.

Re: Mud Drag Truck vs. Street/Mud Truck

id say street/mud truck. what would be better then going down to the mud hole, making some passes, and rolling into town with a rig like that. priceless to me. anybody can put a muddy rig on a trailer, but then you can show all the guys with the trailers that you trust in your truck enough for road use and mud use.
