You got me thinking about the rear sport bumper. I had the perfect one on my ol '71 stepper. It was white and everything. Hopefully i can get my hands on another. That will really set off the rearend of Oaky.

Got all my suspension for the drop this evening and pick up the truck from the radiator shop in the morning. Have a super busy week this week and next and going to try to drive it up to the Southeastern Truck Nationals next weekend in TN so I had them go ahead and flush the system, replace all the hoses, put in a tunes thermostat, and install the new 3 core copper/brass radiator. Probably should've done it myself but time is of the essence.

Altitude adjustment coming soon!

It's sort of a mixed bag but these parts worked best for I what I wanted/needed and what Summit had in stock at the time.

2.5" CPP spindles
2" DJM coils
Western Chassis flip kit with new hardware
Belltech Nitro Drop Shocks (rear)
Belltech Street Performance Shocks (front)

Almost hit all the major brands. They were out of the McGaughy spindles and I didn't want to go with a c-notch just yet. Hoping to get it dropped Friday. Got it back from the radiator shop today and finally got it registered. Man, that was an ordeal I'll explain another time.

Re: "Oaky" Farm Fresh '73 Short Step

Watch out, our CPP spindles had a fat casting on the bottom of the upright on the driver's side. Dust shield wouldn't seat, and rotor would rub. Had to grind like hell for them to fit. Just something to keep an eye out for.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to look out for that. Really hope I don't have to get into all that.

Re: "Oaky" Farm Fresh '73 Short Step

Daylight shot after the drop. It's a little higher on the driver's side front but I'm hoping that with some drive time it will settle.

Thanks, John.

I've started to put together some goodies to wake up the original 307 a bit. After some extensive research (especially here and on the Chevelle forum), this is what I'm planning for the motor.

- 416 305 HO heads to raise the compression to 9.5-10.0 CR range (purchased)
- Lunati 60101 cam and lifters (nice streetable cam but should give great performance right where I need it)
- Lunati valve springs, retainers, locks to match the cam (purchased)
- Edelbrock EPS intake manifold
- Edelbrock 1406 600 cam (purchased)
- Shorty headers with 1 5/8 tubing
- Dual delta flow 50 Flowmasters with 2.5" piping (purchased)
- stock converter
- 3:73 gears

By all acounts this should give me a very streetable motor, a nice sound and reliable performance. Heads are getting cleaned up at the shop now.

This is a formula the Chevelle guys have had a ton of luck with in their 307 equipped cars so I'm hoping it works well for my set-up.

Man I like this truck. Would you call your drop a 4/6 drop? And what size tire are you running?

Thank you! It's technically 4.5 in the front and roughly 6 in the rear. Since the front has settled it actually has a nice rake. The tires are 225/75/15 Hankook Optimo h724 all the way around.

Rides and drives nice. Going through all the brakes this weekend. Admittedly, I've never bled brakes before so this should be interesting.

Re: "Oaky" Farm Fresh '73 Short Step

Bleeding the brakes wont be a problem for you ,I have faith in you. I have to do some brake work on mine very soon ,front brake lines and possibly another new caliper .I miss my other trucks ,cant seem to get motivated on this one plus its my daily driver.
