4L60 (700R4) DIY Rebuild

I've been building a '55 Stepside shortbed for the wife for the last year. This is definitely a budget build since I'm going to end up double what she wants to spend on this truck. Things are going well, but cold weather is coming and I'm looking for things I can do in the basement rather than the detached garage. It's a little early in the project to start this thread so things will go probably go slow at first. However, I'm ready to buy some parts after 3 days living on the Internet, so I thought I'd at least get this started. I hope it becomes something others can look back on and learn from.

Background: This tranny was originally from a 1991 S-10 with a 6 cyl (4.3L) and has a "K" case. It will mate up to a 383 small block that has a Comp Cams CS XE286H-10 cam, 9.5:1 compression, 1.6 rockers, balanced, ported hump heads, headers, Edelbrock 1406 carb, 4:11 rear. This will be a show & go truck, mostly for cruizin', but when she hits the loud pedal she'll want it to GO!

Since this is my first 700R4 (and 2nd tranny by myself), I am looking for guidance (even if it's a slap upside the head). If you have experience on vendors, parts, price, missing stuff, etc., I'd like to hear it.
