Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks

Here's my 63. Have done everything myself with help from my dad and some good friends along the way. Currently sitting with no engine because college life, but finals week is this week coming up, and then I'll be home for the summer and ready to put the good engine in. Kinda tossing around the idea of going to a 292 straight 6, but really want to drive it this summer. I have a thing for green trucks that always need attention, albeit some of that attention is self inflicted. I overheated the engine in the Dakota until it stopped running and kept putting oil in the c10 (about a quart every 50 or so miles) until I decided it was time to do a swap.

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks

New owner here with a nice little 1964 GMC. I’m a 35 year old father of four 6 and under (2 sets of twins) so this is exactly what we needed, another project. Happened to come across this a few miles from our house and had to have it, didn’t even negotiate the price. It’s an all original 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the tree. Has a Dana 44 with a 3.54 open gear. Bed wood was replaced with a metal bed and color matched rhino lined.

We love it. As you can see it fits well in the garage with my 1965 Chevelle project. It’s LS swapped and loud and fast, almost the opposite of the green truck. I’ve also got a 99 Silverado LS SWB that’s lowered and setup pretty nice. 5 GM vehicles in my driveway now...

So far the forum has been helpful. Hopefully someday I’ll have something to contribute.

Nice truck! I'm restoring my 61 and that turquoise is the same as mine. The paint number is 5007. The paint shop says that this number doesn't help them. Would you or anyone have a current number for this color? Thanks
