Do you know this frame

Im in the middle of tearing down a 87 S10 for a frame swap for my 52 AD and yes if i had the original i would use it but i dont. Its pretty bad shape but the frame the truck is on is much better. It has a 116" wheelbase with a 62" 12 bolt rearend with a V8. Think I'm just going to use the frame its on. Anyone know what year the frame is?

Re: Do you know this frame

just a guess without some more pics,, but I'm guessing some kind of car frame based on the frame being pulled in behind the axle..what does the front half of the frame look like?

Re: Do you know this frame

If the rear springs are original then I'd say 71 or 72 GMC
Its definitely a 67-72 style frame

Leaf spring trucks don't have that cross member.

Did the 1/2 ton come with spings or does this look like a 3/4 ton?

Re: Do you know this frame

Yep most GMC 1/2 and 3/4 for those years were rear leaf while most if not all. Chevys were rear coil.

I'd say 71/72 with the front disk brakes. A bit wide in the front unless you want to run a big truck nose or have the tires outside the fenders a tad.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
