Fleetside tail light housings

Hello all,

I bought this 58 Fleetside a few months ago. It has the stock suspension, brakes and an 83 Firebird 305 and TH-400 trans. It's ugly but I like it.

The PO mounted trailer lights for brake lights. They are functional but ugly. I know the tail light housings are not being reproduced which is why he did this. I have been searching for a used set for weeks and have come up empty. I really want to change this eye sore. I did a search here but didn't find any info on trying to fabricate them. Has anyone ever tried to fabricate them or something that will hold the lense and bezel together?

Looking for ideas......

Here's a pic from the day I bought it.

Here are photos of the original. Have you looked at LED replacements that come intregrated into the lense? You could wrap the back with flexible waterproofing.

Re: Fleetside tail light housings

Thanks guys! Both options to consider. The truck doesn't have working turn signals and I haven't had time to look at the wiring the PO did. I know he replaced a wiring harness up front. Regardless of what I decide to do, I'll need to order bezels.

I've seen led ones for your truck... Can't find them this instant but they are out there. I'd bet they'd solve your problem!
