The information I found here (https://gmheritagecenter.com/gm-heri...tion-kits.html ) supports the no BBC in the K series rigs. It also says you couldn't buy a BB or a 307 in California in a C or K series in 72. Who knew?

Re: 1969-1972 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban RARE??

I just brought back from Idaho a 1970 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban that was in the phoenix area until1994. Apparently 541 built. any realistic idea how many of these trucks would be remaining that are either drivable or are an easy restoration to a descent driver? Not including rotton parts trucks.

Also, K20 GMC Suburbans are even rarer than Chevy Suburbans. My 71(Cupcake) came with factory tilt, buckets, tach, front to rear air. I have been collecting those parts for a few years, since the someone from the past took all the good stuff out! Mine has barn doors.

Would it be reasonable to say there would have been half the number of gmc?

I love cupcakes! I have heard that there were maybe 1 GMC to every 5 Chevy Suburbans produced. I have seen the stats on this forum somewhere.

Re: 1969-1972 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban RARE??

I was guessing at maybe 80 or so 70 chevrolets left. That would put your truck at around one of 15 16. Optioned like that one of a small handful. Any idea of the value today of a nice to very nice driver? Not speaking about an impecable restoration? Curious to hear of some opinions on this.

Re: 1969-1972 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban RARE??

This truck i bought is no where as well equipped. It did have the third seat. 292 4 speed power steering and air but i believe either dealer installed or owner installed. Dana 44 front eaton rear np205 transfercase. Dash is gauges. I did pickup a 3/4 ton power brake setup from a guy in cheyenne. I will add that to the truck. Story is it was bought originally from a guy in phoenix who owned a construction company. He sold it to a friend of his who was a lawyer in phoenix. The lawyer gave it to his daughter who had married a guy from blackfoot idaho. I have the paperwork when it went up to idaho in 1994. it was licienced there until 05. apparently it was started up acouple times in 06 and has sat since.working on just getting it cleaned up and running first.

Any pictures of your suburban? I would love to see it. I am also purchasing a 1967 k20 original owner. It's in Wyoming, and I will have it transported here. The guy that owned it started to restore it. The frame looks restored, as was the 292 engine rebuilt. I am looking forward to getting it. I just so.d a 70 k10 suburban today to get the money to get the k20 suburban!

Re: 1969-1972 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban RARE??

Not the same one. It is all white. This is a bit of a story but how I came by it is odd. I had seen an add for a 68 sub near boise. I could not find the add again to call the guy back. I contacted a guy who owned classic drivers. I knew this guy who owned the sub was a painter. What happened was after lunch lowell from classic drivers went to the only paint store in town and found out who the guy was and stopped by his house checked out the sub and said it was rotten and leave it be. About six months later I figured after looking at all the pics lowell had sent me that I would try and contact the guy again. When I called lowell back he said that he was sure he had seen one outside of blackfoot sitting in somebodys yard. He asked me if I would like him to look into it. He contacted the people the nash"s. They agreed to sell me the truck for 1500.00 dollars. I paid them for the truck just over a year ago and just picked the truck up. I guess you could call the truck a survivor. Only way it has been altered is her father put bucket seats in the front from a van and get this linoleum on the floor. Just rebuilt the carb original rochester one barrel. Still has the original air breather on it. Has not been jacked chopped lowered or screwed with. Still has the spare in the back with the 16-1/2" rim. Manual choke all there but seized. No speaker cut doors. No cut up dash. Steering wheel was replaced. Have an original to be restored and put back in. Barn doors still work properly. This truck was parked with the windows up and just sat for about ten years. Blair put 50 pounds of air in the tires I hooked up the towbar to it and pulled it back 2100 miles. No issues. I believe it must be in pretty good mechanical condition. Tires still holding air. Blair says the four wheel drive works real good. Only alterations I plan are larger tires 255 85r16. I do have new chrome bumpers front and rear. Have two original seats for it as well. Adding the power brakes. Nothing too loud. Pictures soon.

Yes, it is white. Do you know what color the interior is?
