Speedometer Clicking
I just put in a new speedometer cable and as I pulled the truck around the cul-de-sac yesterday to pull it in the garagde, I noticed a clicking coming from the speedometer. Any ideas?

did you clean out the housing and lubricate the new cable???

I've had this happen on several old trucks with old speedomoter cables. Even though yours is new, I'd suggest pulling the cable off the back of the speedometer and pour some 3in1 oil in it or even some new motor oil. It doesn't take much just enought to lube it up. It always worked with the oldies.

I had this prob on my S-10 once and it was the gear drive that the cable goes into. I pulled it apart cleaned it, inspected the gears, repacked it with grease and it fixed it. Doug
