Zipper on softop rear window

Well end of last winter the zipper quit zipping on left side of my softtop rear window. It all looks okay, just doesn't mesh teeth together as you pull the metal part down. Tried a few tips I saw about zipper repairs on YouTube, but nothing seems to work. They have always been a PITA cause ride a lot of gravel roads in this thing & the dust collects there making the zipper hard to keep clean. Also if you lube the teeth up (chapstick works good) that just makes all the dust stick too.

So all to say, I've been contemplating just replacing the zipper on both side with heavy velcro...anybody else tried this or recon it'll be okay?

Also came across this for a quick repair http://www.fixnzip.com/ Anybody used one?

Yes that works good, just doesn't seem to last too long.
